Top of the Rock

Drimoleague, Co. Cork

Glamping in 'the Heart of West Cork'.

David and Elizabeth are the third generation of Rosses to live at the Top of the Rock. As a visitor you will get the opportunity to look out on an ever-changing vista of mountain, cloud and sunshine. This ancient meeting place has once again come alive with the sound of families taking time to be together. Pod Páirc is a safe and homely place for your family holiday or weekend away. It is also a perfect venue for couples with miles of walkways and river banks to wander along. Larger walking groups also come to avail of the group rates and wonderful facilities. Often people just come solo to take time out on their own. For the adventure enthusiast, there is walking, cycling and cross country running in the challenging landscape surrounding us. Top of the Rock's working cattle farm with its sheep, hens and ducks is a hive of interest for young and old alike, and you will enjoy meeting our dog 'Daisy'.

Opened in 2014, the Podpàirc was the first of its kind in Ireland. Top of the Rock has eight pods with different levels of comfort and space to suit your particular needs. Please note there is a 2 night minimum stay at weekends for the Pods.

Farm Hands

Every family who comes to the PodPáirc has the opportunity to see the animals in the PodPáirc, but the farm itself has a great deal more to see and learn. This is where Farmhands comes in… A one hour Fun and Learning program to enable children accompanied by parents to explore the whole farm with David and Joanna’s help on Monday’s to Saturdays, June to September. We feed baby calves, bottle-feed lambs, visit the tree goat, and participate in whatever is happening on the farm that day. Children have a chance to explore the Bale maze and see the cow being hand-milked. The highlight of the day is always the Hayride around the field with Suzy the goat on board. On completion each participant will receive the Farmhands Certificate.
